About Us

RED INK is a non-profit, public benefit organisation that was founded in 2009 to provide resources, education and development in early Maths and Literacy. We offer a range of innovations, which provide access to quality early childhood teaching and learning programmes, and materials.
Our mission is to provide quality, easy to access support and resources to practitioners, teachers, trainers, and parents across South Africa’s diverse education contexts. Our vision is to create learning environments that inspire and motivate children and promote positive early learning experiences and a solid foundation for future success at school.
RED INK sources resources from local suppliers and partners with the Deaf Community of Cape Town (DCCT) to develop specific items and to collate our materials. RED INK Resources was established in 2017 as a commercial entity to facilitate the procurement and distribution of education resource to support the RED INK NGO and it’s training and development endeavours.

Early childhood development
Early Childhood Development (ECD) is defined as the period between birth and 8/9 years old. At RED INK we focus on the years 4-9 and offer resources for play-based learning, early reading and writing and early mathematics.
We source as much of our online resources as possible from local suppliers. We also partner with Deaf Community of Cape Town (DCCT) to develop specific items and to collate our materials.
